# RateLimitAccumulationType

A model the API reference uses in a request or a response. The operation pages link every field typed as this model here.

Determines what a rate limiter accumulates per window.

## Values

| Value | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `Count` | Counts discrete requests, checked against permitLimit. |
| `Amount` | Accumulates a decimal amount (for example a transaction value), checked against maxAmount. Only FixedWindow supports amount accumulation. |
