# ScreeningFailureBehavior

A model the API reference uses in a request or a response. The operation pages link every field typed as this model here.

What the platform does when an external screening provider cannot give it a decision.

## Values

| Value | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `ContinueWithAudit` | Record the non-decision on the transaction and continue to authorization. The default. |
| `HardStop` | Halt the transaction before authorization, with a client-safe error saying screening was unavailable. Deliberately distinct from a provider decline: nothing has judged the transaction risky, the platform simply could not ask. |
