API reference Hosted Payment Pages

Recomputes a reusable link's completion count from its own completions.

POST /api/hostedpaymentpages/sessions/{sessionId}/reconcile-completions deprecated

Requires: HostedPaymentPage.HppSessions, HostedPaymentPage.HppSessions.Create, merchant scope.

Corrects the link when the stored count and the completions disagree. The repair for a count that drifted. The link's count is advanced after a payer's completion is consumed and handed back when a consume is reversed, and neither write can be made to fail loudly: the payer-facing consume proceeds rather than refusing a payment over a counter write, and the release side is best-effort. Either can leave the count disagreeing with the completions, which are the record of what actually happened. Deliberately separate from the completions listing rather than folded into it, so reading a link's payments never writes to the link. Safe to call on a link that is already correct: the response says whether anything changed, and nothing is written when nothing did. A link whose completions have passed their retention window is reported untouched rather than reset to zero. Refused on a link that is not reusable, with the error code's HTTP status published in the error catalogue rather than declared here, for the reason the pause action gives.

Parameters

Name In Type Description
sessionId required path string (uuid) The reusable link to reconcile.
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
suppressNulls required query boolean If true, omit properties with null values.

Field Type Description
sessionId required string (uuid) The reusable link that was reconciled.
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
changed required boolean Whether the link was actually written to. `false` means the stored count and status already agreed with the children, which is the expected answer.
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
previousCompletionCount required integer (int32) The completion count the link carried before the reconciliation.
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
completionCount required integer (int32) The completion count the link carries now. Equal to `previousCompletionCount` when nothing needed correcting.
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
consumedCompletions required integer (int32) How many of the link's completions are consumed, which is the number the count was reconciled to.
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
totalCompletions required integer (int32) How many completions the link has at all. Zero means the reconciliation was a no-op by design: children share the link's retention TTL, so an empty partition is not evidence the count should be zero.
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
previousStatus required HppSessionStatus HppSessionStatus The link's status before the reconciliation.
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
Pending The session has been created and is awaiting use by a customer. Also the status a session returns to when a premature consume is released: a submission that was rejected by pure request-shape validation before the orchestrator was invoked leaves the link usable, so the payer can correct their input and resubmit on the same link (see Consumed).
Consumed The session has been consumed by a transaction submission. Terminal in practice: the only exit is the narrow release back to Pending performed by HppSession.ReleaseConsume, which requires that the session carries no OrchestratorDispatchedAt marker, that the consuming transaction id is still the one recorded, and that no vault token was minted. Once a submission reaches the orchestrator the marker is durable and the session stays Consumed regardless of the outcome, including a decline. Submit paths additionally validate the request BEFORE consuming, so a rejected request usually never spends the link in the first place; the release covers the rules that can only run inside the create.
Revoked The session has been manually revoked by an administrator.
Cancelled The session was cancelled by the parent page via the iframe two-way command channel Distinct from Revoked (admin-initiated) for clarity in audit + reporting: same terminal effect (session can no longer be consumed).
Completed A reusable link has taken every completion it was capped at, so it accepts no further payers. Terminal, and reachable only on a reusable session: a single-use link spends itself through Consumed instead, and a reusable one is never Consumed because its per-payer consume state lives on its HppSessionCompletion children rather than on the parent. A reusable link created with no cap never reaches this status; it stays payable until it is revoked, cancelled or expires.
status required HppSessionStatus HppSessionStatus The link's status now. Differs from `previousStatus` only when the corrected count crossed the link's cap in one direction or the other.
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.

429 The request was refused because a rate limit was exceeded, or because something a later retry can clear stopped it. A rate limit refusal carries an `application/problem+json` body: wait at least the interval `Retry-After` names before retrying, then back off. Limits are tuned per deployment, so read the allowance from the response headers rather than assuming a fixed ceiling. Any other refusal carries the standard error envelope as `application/json`, and its `error.code` names the cause.
