Back to the API reference

This reference may be out of date

This instance couldn't reach its API specification on the last attempt, so this page shows the copy fetched before that. Anything added or changed since then is missing here, and the reference updates itself as soon as the specification is readable again. Last fetched 2026-10-22 22:09 UTC.

Gets the durable suppression state for a destination's endpoint.

GET /api/notifications/destinations/{id}/suppression deprecated

Requires: Notifications.Destinations, merchant scope.

Returns `null` when the endpoint has never failed, or when the transport type has no endpoint concept.

Parameters

Name In Type Description
id required path string (uuid)
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
suppressNulls required query boolean If true, omit properties with null values.

Body: DestinationSuppressionStateDto DestinationSuppressionStateDto Each item has these fields.

Field Type Description
suppressionId required string (uuid) The suppression record's id, for correlating this state with the row on the suppressions management grid or in the suppressions API.
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
isActivelySuppressed required boolean Whether deliveries are being skipped right now.
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
reason required DestinationSuppressionReason DestinationSuppressionReason Why the endpoint was suppressed. Null when the row is only tracking failures. nullable
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
ConsecutiveFailures The endpoint failed the configured number of sustained consecutive delivery attempts.
PermanentHttpError The endpoint returned a permanent (non-retryable) HTTP client error (a 4xx other than 401 / 403 / 408 / 429), signalling the request is wrong-by-construction (URL gone, payload refused) and will keep failing the same way on retry.
Manual An administrator suppressed the endpoint manually.
AuthRejection The endpoint repeatedly rejected our credentials (401 Unauthorized or 403 Forbidden). Kept distinct from PermanentHttpError so an operator can tell an auth-plane problem (expired secret, WAF rule, IP allowlist) from an endpoint that is genuinely gone: the two call for completely different remediation. Unlike a gone endpoint, this is never applied on a single response and carries a shorter expiry.
suppressedAtUtc required string (date-time) UTC timestamp at which the endpoint became suppressed. nullable
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
expiresAtUtc required string (date-time) UTC timestamp at which the suppression auto-expires and the endpoint is re-probed. Null means it never auto-expires and only a manual clear will resume delivery. nullable
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.
consecutiveFailures required integer (int32) Consecutive hard failures recorded against the endpoint.
Values: Values combine: send one or more member names separated by a comma and a space, or the integer sum of their values. Responses carry the names.

default The request failed. The body carries the standard error envelope: a machine-readable `error.code`, a human-readable `error.message`, and `error.validationErrors` when the failure was a validation rejection. The error reference lists the values `error.code` can take. The request failed. 429 The request was refused because a rate limit was exceeded, or because something a later retry can clear stopped it. A rate limit refusal carries an `application/problem+json` body: wait at least the interval `Retry-After` names before retrying, then back off. Limits are tuned per deployment, so read the allowance from the response headers rather than assuming a fixed ceiling. Any other refusal carries the standard error envelope as `application/json`, and its `error.code` names the cause.

Errors

A failed request returns the platform error envelope. The error reference lists every value error.code can carry and shows the four response shapes.
